On Friday I went back to the passport office with the retakes of Micah, and hurray, they accepted them!! Micah's passport application is now complete, and it should arrive just in time for our trip in January. Hurray!

reality

Yesterday was "one of those days"...

-went to the see my Dr. about my wrists which have been bothering me for a while now, and only getting worse and worse, and now I need to get fitted for flexible wrist supports, and wear them 24/7 for the next 4-6 weeks.
-also needed my Dr. to fill out a medical form for me, only to find out that I need to book a separate appointment, and can't get in until early January - even though I need to have the form completed and sent in by Christmas.
-went to the passport office, with Micah, to get his passport application in (because we need it to travel to the States in early January), and they declined his photo, because his chin is slightly covered by his shirt. Do they have any idea how difficult it is to get a picture of a 3-week old baby where he has his eyes open, head straight, looking at the camera with a neutral expression, and not have my hands visible?!? (the picture here is the one they denied)
-then I called Sears and went back immediately to do retakes. I had to wake up my peacefully sleeping baby, and just as he woke up, the lady taking the pictures went to the studio's front desk and helped customers for the next 30 minutes -- while Micah was screaming in the studio. I really couldn't calm him down, because he would have fallen asleep again, and the point was having his eyes open. She finally came back, and after about 20 minutes of attempting a better photo, we gave up. She printed 2 different versions, one of which will hopefully be approved.
-by this time, the passport office was closed. arg.
-went to Stew's parents house for dinner, which was great, except Micah needed to eat during dinner time, and then had an explosive poo, so I ate after everyone else was basically finished.
-when we went to leave their house, we noticed that our car was smashed up. Yep, we were hit by someone while parked in front of their house - no note, nothing, so it's a hit & run. Our bumper is all scraped up and cracked, and our hood is all crinkled up. Thankfully the car seems to run just fine, but we can't get the hood open, so who knows what has been damaged underneath.
-did I mention that my house is a complete mess and I'm exhausted??? And now today I have to take my smashed car back to the passport office and hope and pray that they accept one of Micah's photos. Please, please, please!
