a so-far healthy baby growing inside me. Despite a pulled something-or-other on Sunday, all is well and I feel great.

pumpkins and lots of pumpkin goodness this time of year! (along with that, the eggnog that was randomly in my little grocery store last week. yum!)
THREE
the many creative ways that God has provided for us over these past few years. Money has often been tight, but He has always provided more than enough to eat and share with others. We are so blessed.

ONE
glorious sunshine! It finally feels like summer around here!
TWO
My husband on his way from work at 2:30pm on a Friday. The weekend has arrived early for this household!
THREE
our new-to-us and almost-free dishwasher installed this week! It is such a wonderful blessing to have a clean kitchen and not spend 1-2hrs a day cleaning it!

my thankful three
It's been far too long since I posted one of these.
ONE
a precious, tiny, beating heart. whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. So lovely to hear that sound on Wednesday morning.
TWO
a phone call just now from a dear friend/s-i-l, offering a little visit and a free frappuccino. Who does that?!
THREE
this season we are entering: full of God's candy, fresh, delicious fruit. all. summer. long.

My Thankful Three
ONE
Saturdays. Having Stewart home, helping, and loving on his kids. Family time is the best. I always look forward to Saturdays.
TWO
Hand-me-downs. We have been given so many hand-me-down clothes for Halle, that she already has a basic wardrobe for the first 1-2 years of life! (It was the same with Micah, but we no longer know anyone the right age/size to pass along clothes...but we're still super appreciative that we haven't had to buy much until now, and he's almost 2!) Yay freebies!

Wonderful, wonderful Halle smiles. I'm really going to try to snap some photos today.
FOUR
It's cheating to have four, I know. But my Micah really does say the cutest things these days, and I'm so thankful for this stage he is in! (Next time you see him, just ask him how old he is. His usual answer: 8. Love it!)

My Thankful Three
ONE
playdough. Micah recently discovered just how much fun it is. And I've discovered just how great it is that he will play with it for an hour at a time!
TWO
turkey leftovers. So thankful for turkey leftovers. Micah and I discovered today that turkey cilantro quesadillas are quite delicious!
THREE
an evening spent with the kids and my Mom tonight, since our men are out together at a soccer match. Looking forward to good company, yummy food, and bedtime help with the kids!

My Thankful Three
ONE
playtime with two friends and their little ones, and conversation that reminds me this is all normal.
TWO
the gathering of four generations over supper last night, and the fact that my kiddos have all four sets of great-grandparents still living.
THREE
that nap time still exists in this household, and usually the two littles overlap in their sleeping, allowing this momma to also rest her head. wonderful.
What are you thankful for today?

My Thankful Three
ONE
rain! Yesterday we had three rain showers within about 15 hours. It was wonderful and really helped cool things down. And as a result, grass is beginning to sprout again!
TWO
friends who are able to help haul some of our things back to Canada for us. Thank you Barb & Bette!
THREE
a nice dinner out last night at a fancy local restaurant, as a gift from a friend. (And other friends willing to babysit Micah.) What a treat!
What are you thankful for today?

My Thankful Three
ONE
a boy who consistently takes a nap around noon... even if it is only one nap, and only an hour long.
TWO
that our internet is back up and working well. (It was out for most of yesterday.)
THREE
homemade pizza for supper! Probably my all-time favourite meal - pizza of almost any variety.
Trying to look on the bright side today... something I think I need to do a little more often.

ONE
A lovely birthday yesterday. It was such a good, relaxing, enjoyable day.
TWO
The pretty paper snowflakes that my friend Lisa helped me cut out and hang around our house, so they flutter in the breeze.
THREE
That the paint colours that I've been helping mix actually look good on our walls! We're (almost) one step closer to the house being finished. (If you missed my first post about the house, you can find it here, on my HandmadeMomma blog.)

My Thankful Three
ONE
Our friend's little boy, Zonathan, was able to see a doctor again today, got good medical care and the right medicine, and we're all feeling optimistic that he's truly on the mend now!
TWO
We had a delicious feast tonight with friends, celebrating American Thanksgiving!
THREE
This morning when we woke up the temperature outside was 22 degrees! It's starting to really cool off at night, and it's so refreshing!

A safe, smooth, uneventful, flight from home, into Europe. Micah was a champion traveller!

A delicious supper with my husband last night, at one of my favourite places in this city.

We're finished packing our checked bags - ahead of time!!

We had a good visit with Stew's family this week, and now have a couple days with my family before we go.
THREE
My Grandma had heart surgery last week, and she's doing great! She's out of the hospital and staying with my parents now - so we get to visit her, too, before we go.
Feeling very thankful...

My Thankful Three
ONE
so much beautiful sunny weather lately!!
TWO
so many, many errands (getting ready for our time in Africa) that are now done! (Still many to go, but for now I'm going to relish the ones that are done.)
THREE
my little non-napping boy has been sleeping for over 45 minutes. I made lunch, ate lunch, cooked some baby food, and have gone online all during the same nap. And he's still sleeping. Beautiful.
ha... just as I finished this post and looked it over, he woke up. But, a good nap nonetheless. :)

ONE
Last week my dear friend Brenna came for a visit. It was so good to see her!
TWO
Finally starting to feel a little less congested and slightly more energetic. Hurray!
THREE
A productive day yesterday. I'm feeling less overwhelmed at all the errands I have to do to get ready for our year in Africa... I now have almost all of Micah's clothes bought/sorted and ready.

my amazing son, who went to bed at a good time tonight, and who slept decently last night!

Cinnamon Schoolhouse Cookies from Trader Joe's, on a bowl of vanilla ice-cream, that I am going to go eat right now...

My Mom, who gave up two hours of sleep in the middle of the night, last night to help me try to calm Micah and get him back to sleep.

My Mom, who took Micah with her on her morning walk, so I could get in some extra sleep.

My Mom, who made me coffee and breakfast when I got up for the day.
[[Thanks so much for all your help, Mom. I don't know what I would have done last night without you! I think I would have just laid down beside Micah, so we could both cry together.]]

it's the weekend, and that means that unless Micah needs to eat, Stewart is the one who gets up with him at night. Hurray for more sleep!

My Thankful Three
ONE
after many days of rain - a clear sunny day!
TWO
part a: our health! I far too often complain about minor ailments, but really, we have much to be thankful for. I am so happy and thankful that Micah is healthy, and I am healthy, and that I have been able to breastfeed him with only minor difficulties. And Stew is healthy too!
part b: After typically refusing to breastfeed while being covered up these past few weeks, last night Micah nursed well, covered up! What a relief. I'm hoping that he's done protesting, and back to his usual easy-going self.
THREE
having energy on a day when having energy seems unlikely. (this is God's provision for me today.)
