these past few days

This week has been crazy!  Or so it seems.  I guess mostly just last night was crazy.  We hosted 42 people in our home for a potluck to say goodbye to our good friend Lisa.  She went straight to the airport from our house, and is now already in Europe on a big adventure with friends for two months.  And I already miss her!

Micah was quite interested in Lisa's henna!

And Micah, well, he's been such a little boy lately.  No baby left in him at all.  He's talking more and more.  Stew told me that yesterday at breakfast (while I was sleeping in!) Micah said "banana", or more likely, "nana".  Just a few minutes ago he walked to the door and said "door" to our friend Shari.  Yesterday afternoon while Stew was out, he walked down the hall looking around, calling "Daddy, Daddy, Daddy".

He has also learned how to climb.  Last night at our party, he figured out how to climb on top of the cooler that had drinks in it.  He would sit on the lid, and then get down (on his own).  But this morning he decided to climb from the cooler onto the table.  So I turned around and there was a very pleased little boy standing on top of the table, looking at me.  Oh man!  Cute, but not cute.  But he only did it twice, then was disciplined for deliberately disobeying me, and hasn't done it since.  Hasn't even climbed on the cooler.

Micah has learned that if he wants to go outside he needs to put his shoes on.  So now if anyone puts their shoes on, he goes to find his shoes and brings them to you, so he can go outside too.  He loves outside!

It is so fun watching him grow and develop.  Even just in the last week he seems to have really grown and changed.  He is noticing so much more of what is going on around him, trying so hard to talk, and really exploring his environment.  What a fun little guy!

  1. So fun and exciting. He is an awfully smart little boy to be talking so much when he isn't even quite 16 months old!
