freshly pressed
Yes, yes, these shirts are all freshly pressed. And no, they are not brand new.
Today I asked Charlotte, our house-helper, to do some ironing. These are the finished shirts.
I forgot that here in West Africa they intentionally iron the creases into their shirts to make them look like they are fresh out of the package. And I failed to mention to her that we North Americans don't generally appreciate the same look.
But hey, when in West Africa, do as the West Africans, right??

ReplyDeleteAnd for someone who NEVER irons, I cannot imagine how long it would take to make shirts look like they just came from the package! Wow!
