our new Home Sweet Home

We arrived in Africa late on Tuesday night, and now, Saturday evening, we're unpacked and feeling pretty well settled in. We just ate our first real meal in our home! (Although, thanks to our new friend Shari for making and freezing it for us!) We're adjusted to the time zone, and are working on adjusting to the heat. (How do you do that, anyways?!) It's been in the 30's everyday, and quite humid. This next month is supposed to stay humid and get hotter, before cooling off for the "winter", if it can be called that.

Here is a picture of the entrance to our house. It's quite green right now, but that will change as we pass from rainy season and into dryer weather. I'm glad we get to adjust to the brown-ness of West Africa gradually.

  1. Glad to hear that you've arrived safely and have a place to call home! As for adjusting to heat... I think it is something your body does on it's own over time... we noticed that the second time a season came around (humid rainy season and dry hot season) we didn't have such trouble as the first time we experienced them. And now we feel cold if it drops below about 25 C!! Blessings as you continue to settle and adjust to the many newnesses.
